This project began with a cherished family farmhouse, passed down through generations. While rich in history, the home needed updates to better suit the needs of its current owners. Our approach preserved its timeless character while making thoughtful changes to enhance comfort, functionality, and energy efficiency.

A major focus of the renovation was creating a primary bedroom suite. By combining two adjacent bedrooms, we designed a spacious retreat featuring a walk-in closet, a stunning en suite bathroom with a tiled shower, and a free-standing soaking tub. This transformed a missing element into a luxurious cornerstone for modern family living.

The existing living room, once dark and uninviting, underwent a subtle yet impactful makeover. We introduced two large south-facing windows to brighten the space, replaced dated drapery, and updated the fireplace. A new cherry mantel and surround, crafted with traditional details to honor the home’s heritage, replaced the exposed brick, blending seamlessly with the farmhouse aesthetic.

The unfinished attic on the opposite side of the home became a showcase for creativity. Designed as a retreat for the homeowners' sons, this new space supports their passion for model building while also improving the home’s energy performance.

Through these carefully considered updates, we helped our clients honor their family legacy while making their home a better fit for modern life.
