    After decades spent restoring their beautiful brick home in upstate New York, our clients were ready for a right-sized home for retirement. They found the perfect location just next door, purchasing a smaller house that, while overgrown with vines and in need of significant renovation, offered the ideal size and setting.

    The design centered on creating spaces that complemented their lifestyle and love of nature. A great room addition became the heart of the home, with expansive views and seamless indoor-outdoor living for enjoying the changing seasons. Recognizing the client’s passion for gardening, we integrated a greenhouse accessed from a reimagined mudroom—a space created by repurposing one of the three garage bays. This area also now includes a powder room and laundry, providing functionality without compromising the overall layout.

    The exterior transformation combined Marvin Ultimate windows and doors in a Wineberry finish with fresh gray siding, giving the home a sophisticated yet inviting facelift. This renovation is a testament to the beauty of purposeful design, providing our clients with a comfortable, elegant home for this exciting new chapter of life.
